Project IJ Rear Battery + VFD Twin Shift Mounts
Project IJ Rear Battery Compartment STL Package
Rear-Mounted Battery & Servo Compartment for Project IJ
This STL package provides the files required to build the redesigned rear-mounted battery compartment and interior rear section for Project IJ builds.
The system relocates the battery and shift servos to the rear of the chassis while integrating cleanly into the Project IJ interior and cage structure.
This listing is for digital STL files only.
Designed For
Project IJ builds
VS4-10 chassis
VFD Twin shift servo setups
Project IJ cage system
⚠️ The Project IJ cage is required.
The cage structure is used to retain the battery lid in place.
The servo mounts were specifically designed around:
Reefs Raw 100 servos
Or similarly sized servos
While the servo layout was designed for the VFD Twin transmission, you do not need to run a VFD Twin to use this rear compartment system.
Included STL Files
Rear battery compartment
Battery lid
Rear interior enclosure panels
Seat base
Seat file
Mirror the part to create the opposite side
Outer seat brackets
Rear basket
Also functions as part of the battery lid retention system
Additional Components Required
Project IJ cage system
Hard-mounted XT60 connector
Spring from a standard click pen
Used for the rear rocker mechanism
Not required, but recommended for improved feel and operation
Servos
Hardware and wiring
How the System Works
The battery compartment mounts in the rear section of the truck and integrates into the interior structure.
The rear basket and cage work together to retain the battery lid, creating a clean hidden battery setup while maintaining access to the electronics underneath.
The rocker mechanism can optionally use a pen spring to provide additional tension and return feel.
Printing Notes
Designed for standard FDM printing
Print the battery lid on its side so the layer lines orient for maximum strength. The lid is designed to flex slightly and function as a spring, so print orientation matters for durability and proper operation.
Builder selects material and print settings
Minor cleanup and fitting may be required
Test-fit components before final assembly
Important Notes
This product includes digital STL files only
No physical parts are included
Project IJ cage required for proper battery lid retention
Rear basket is required for final assembly
Servo mounts designed around Reefs Raw 100 dimensions
