The Competitors

Goal: 

Push a VS4-10 Phoenix (Straight Axle Version) to reach the highest top speed.

Rules:

  • Must use VS4-10 Phoenix F10 Straight Axles

    • Axles can be upgraded if desired (knuckles, gears set, etc) but must still be F10 based.

  • Must use VS4-10 Chassis rails

    • Cross members, skid plates, shock towers, etc, can be changed or modified

    • Rails can be modified but must remain majority intact

    • Rails must still function as the structural chassis (you can’t just zip tie them on top of another chassis for example)

  • Must still use suspension

    • Front and rear axles must still have a reasonably measurable suspension travel (no locking out your shocks)

  • Must use the Phoenix body

    • Body can be trimmed and modified as desired

  • Forward propulsion must come from the mechanical drive of the axles to the tires (no rockets, free fall assist, sails, black holes, riding inside another vehicle, tow cords, etc)

  • Speed must be measured with GPS device such as GNSS or Dynamite GPS (different brands of same items are allowed)

  • 4S Battery Max

  • Must perform the work on the car yourself

    • except paint… I think we should allow help there, not that Josh needs it or anything

  • Wheelbase must stay within +/-2” tolerance

  • Social media posts about the challenge should be kept to “teaser style”. 

    • You can discuss the challenge but don’t disclose your speeds

    • Don’t show your full vehicle, keep everyone wondering

Freedoms:

  • No limits on motor

  • No limits on transmissions

  • No limits on tire or wheels

  • No track width restrictions

  • No restrictions on using 2WD, 4WD or center differentials

  • Independently Hosted poll for best of show

    • 5 Bonus MPH’s to final score

    • 2 Photos to be submitted 5 days before video deadline

      • Winner can include bonus vote info in their video
